Redress Scotland’s Response:

1) How many panel members are currently working with Redress Scotland? There are currently 41 panel members working with Redress Scotland.
2) Are all of these panel members fully trained and determining applications? If not, how many are still in training and when do you anticipate their integration into the team of working panel members? There are currently 15 panel members in training from our most recent round of recruitment. We expect that our new panel members will be integrated into the schedule of sitting days between April and May 2024.
3) Are Redress Scotland recruiting for further panel members? Redress Scotland are not currently recruiting for further panel members.
4) How often are panels held? Over the past 12 months, the average number of initial panel sitting days held per month has been 21 panels.
5) How many IAP applications are reviewed in a single panel sitting? The number of Individually Assessed Payment (IAP) applications reviewed in a single panel sitting fluctuates, as a variety of factors need to be taken into consideration when allocating applications to panel sitting days. The maximum number of IAP applications that can be considered on a single panel sitting day is 4 applications, however this could be as low as 1 IAP application on a panel sitting day. This is dependent on the size of the application pack and statement of abuse from the survivor.
